Understanding the characteristics of elderly care facility managers is crucial in introducing a unit care system as a way of improving the quality of elderly care services. In this regard, this study analyses how facility managers¡¯ characteristics influence their intention to introduce the unit care system. To this end, this study surveyed the managers of elderly care facilities and 189 elderly group homes located in North Gyeongsang province, among which 134 responded. The questionnaire consisted of two sections: facility mangers¡¯ awareness of elderly care services and facility management, and based on the survey result, the study analyzed how much the awareness of the facility managers influence their intention to introduce the unit care system. The collected data were analyzed in terms of frequency and percentage using SPSS 19.0 program, and the average and the standard deviation of each variable was calculated. In order to understand the impact of facility managers¡¯ characteristics on their intention to introduce the unit care system, this study also conducted a correlation analysis and a regression analysis. The result of the study indicates the facility managers¡¯ characteristics largely influence their intention to introduce the unit care system.
